    Online Photography and L Computers
Check out this photography site. He is into averaging groups of similar pictures and displaying the result as well as displaying other types of media in new ways. I am quite intrigued by his work. From what he has online I was impressed with the ideas that he had. I am a new fan!

I also found this computer manufacturer. I had seen the displays before but never the laptops or desktop systems. I think I like the design of the laptops more and the displays certainly the best. The desktop design is cool, but I have been wanting an Alienware for a while now.

    GM vs Bill Gates
For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on. At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon."

In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating:

If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:

    1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day.

    2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.

    3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull over to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.

    4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.

    5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads.

    6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation "warning light.

    7. The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying.

    8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.

    9. Every time a new car was introduced carbuyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

    10. You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off.

    What D&D Character Am I?
I Am A: Chaotic Good Elf Ranger Bard

    Alignment:
Chaotic Good characters are independent types with a strong belief in the value of goodness. They have little use for governments and other forces of order, and will generally do their own things, without heed to such groups.

    Race:
Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently concern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.

    Primary Class:
Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.

    Secondary Class:
Bards are the entertainers. They sing, dance, and play instruments to make other people happy, and, frequently, make money. They also tend to dabble in magic a bit.

    Deity:
Solonor Thelandria is the Chaotic Good elven god of archery and the hunt. He is also known as the Keen Eye, the Great Archer, and the Forest Hunter. His followers respect nature, and only hunt when needed, but are quick to defend the forest from intruders. Their favorite weapon is the bow, and they tend to be extremely talented with it. Solonor Thelandria's symbol is an arrow with green fletchings.

    Marriage Proposals
Ok I can't believe I'm even readin this first of all. This is how it happened, I swear. I had to email someone from Warcraft a saved game so they could see how to beat a map. I was in MSN and saw this link on their front page, clicking on it because I was bored! I read through and find this one, which I think is the worst way to ask someone to marry you, which one do you like best?

    9. JUMP OUT OF A CAKE Invite your nearest and dearest to a party to celebrate Father Time's birthday -- the beginning of a new year (and a new engagement)! Get or make a life-sized cake. Tell your sweetie you're going to surprise your friends, and tell your friends you're going to propose -- top secret! At the stroke of midnight, jump out of the cake with a big sign around your neck that says, "(Name), will you marry me?"

Ok I have to put something geeky in here so to defend my manhood, lol or something like that. I mean come on, I'm quoting a story on women.msn.com ... Gee I wonder who is the target audience.

Well I found this friggin unbelieveable story over at Yahoo News (AP).

The ITER project, first proposed more than a decade ago, is designed to study the potential of fusion power as a cleaner alternative to fossil fuels, such as coal and oil. Fossil fuels are expected to run short in about 50 years.

Fusion, which powers the sun and stars, involves colliding tiny atoms at extremely high temperatures and pressure inside a reactor. When the atoms fuse into a plasma they release energy that can be harnessed to generate electricity.

Fusion power produces no greenhouse gas emissions and only low levels of radioactive waste. The reactor would run on an isotope of hydrogen, an abundant source of fuel that can be extracted from water.

Read that again! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Its about friggin time an initive of this caliber takes place, its just a shame that the US isn't at the fore front leading the way. Can't kill thousands of people overseas, take over two countries, worry about the economy and build a fusion power plant at the same time.

If Bush gave a speech tomorrow announcing a plan such as this, I might actually vote for him in the next election, otherwise FORGET IT!

    My first post
    Isn't that exciting.

Here is something interesting that I was reading the other day. Look here for more filler.

As an example, Howe points out, NASA's Voyager 1 — the most distant object produced by humans — is now 90 astronomical units or 8.4 billion miles from the sun. (One astronomical unit, or AU, is equal to the distance between Earth and the sun: 93 million miles or 149 million kilometers.) Voyager 1 was boosted from Earth back in 1977, and is clocking a speed of 3.6 AU per year. Contrast that to the Kuiper Belt around our solar system at around 200 AU, the Oort cloud at some 10,000 AU out, and the nearest star at 260,000 AU away.

"Any technology current today will require a 'miracle' of one sort or another to send a probe to the next star in a reasonable time," Howe said. To send one pound of mass to the next star in 40 years means that the energy contained in 100 million pounds (50 kilotons) of high explosive has to be expended to get the "pound" up to speed. Thus, the development of very small payloads and ultra-light propulsion systems is essential, he added.

"The only on-board propulsion technologies that we know of that might have a chance of enabling an interstellar flight are fusion and antimatter. Fusion has remained an elusive animal. Antimatter technology is in its infancy, but is rapidly growing," Howe said. Within the next fifty years, antimatter technology may have the same impact as the laser has had over the past fifty years, he forecasts.
